Welcome to The Beetle & Wedge Boathouse Restaurant - a unique, buzzy, informal riverside restaurant.

Set on the site of the original Moulsford ferry service, on the banks of the River Thames immortalised in 'The Wind in the Willows' and where Jerome K Jerome chronicled the escapades of his friends' visits in 'Three Men in a Boat', the Boathouse Restaurant emphasis is on quality of food, wines and service. The older part of the Boathouse offers our famous open charcoal grill where delicacies are created before your very eyes.

Join us in our beautiful old beamed Boathouse & conservatory and enjoy the tranquillity and peace of a beautiful riverside setting for relaxed dining.

The Beetle & Wedge Boathouse Restaurant is proud to have achieved a 'Four Star Restaurant with rooms rating' under the British Common Standard for Guest Accommodation.

This 'Quality Assessment' seeks to inform all our guests of the high standards we aim to achieve everyday and across all services we offer here at the Beetle & Wedge.

In fine weather the Boathouse goes alfresco onto the terrace just a few feet from the river, beautifully set and lit in the evening.

A magical place to sit and listen to the water lap against the bank as you lunch or dine waterside in summer - or - simply listen and watch the river traffic with a pint of ale from our bar and a selection of top cheeses.
